This work explores the idea that if we scratch beneath the surface all manner of things will be revealed.  It is a continuation of many of the issues and themes tackled previously tackled by the artist such as lost or discarded thoughts and memories, hidden fears and regrets and also unfulfilled dreams and aspirations.

In many of the pieces plain white china crockery has been broken to reveal intricately painted patterns reminiscent of old Chinese porcelain and willow style pottery.

By using Oriental and British chinaware as a starting point, the work aims to creates the sense of antique pottery without copying the original designs and motifs.
